The Mimosa United Church launches its eight “Food For Thought” lecture series, which officials call a rural learning opportunity.
Rev. Jeff Davison will discuss a series of film and lectures on Venice and the surrounding area. A full course dinner prior to the lecture will be served by the UCW of Mimosa United Church.
The church is asking for a free will offering and all contributions will go towards the church functions and community.
The lecture series is held on Wednesday evenings at the Mimosa United Church, 5980 Wellington Road 26. Dinner starts at 6:30pm, with the lecture running from 7:30 to 8:30pm. Topics include:
– April 6, Venice: The Center of Power and the Drawing Room of Europe;
– April 13, The Basilica of San Marco and The Ducal Palace;
– April 20, Venetian Civilization and Along the Giudecca and Grand Canals; and
– April 27, The Upper Grand Canal and San Marco on Foot and Sestiere Castell and the Outer Islands.
Register a few days in advance of each lecture to ensure adequate dinners. Dinner seating for 50 only. Lectures are unlimited seating.
